German Luxury car maker, Porsche partners with ‘Women Beyond Boundaries’ (WBB) to go on a 20 day expedition across the Himalayas to support women’s empowerment through mobility. Founder of the WBB will be driving the 4,000 km route through challenging terrain along with her navigator Neha V Sadananda. For the expedition, Porsche India will provide a Cayenne SUV that is set to commence on 18 June from Gurgaon.
The Porsche Cayenne Diesel will be routed through a dozen of high-altitude passes, including Khardung La and Marsimik La, which are two of the highest motorable passes in the world. The drive will test the SUV’s endurance on some of the toughest and highest motorways in the world, testing its off-road capabilities across different terrain as well as riverbeds. ‘Women Beyond Boundaries’ is an organization that runs extreme overland journeys (XOL), pushing boundaries to achieve empowerment through mobility and as part of its core mission, it showcases mobility solutions adopted by women in the remote areas through which they traverse.
